The CNN GOP debate originally scheduled for March 1, 2012 has been canceled due to decisions by Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum and Ron Paul to skip the debate in favor of Super Tuesday campaigning. This left only Newt Gingrich who had previously committed to the March 1 debate and the former Speaker wasted no time blasting his rivals as "chickens."
Report from CBS News:
Newt Gingrich had a message for rivals Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney at a campaign event in his native Georgia Friday: bawk bawk bawwwk.
After two people dressed in chicken suits entertained the crowd, holding a sign reading "I'm Chicken to Debate Newt," Gingrich hit his rivals for backing out of a CNN-sponsored debate that had been scheduled for March 1 but was canceled after Santorum, Romney and Rep. Ron Paul of Texas said they would not attend.
"I'm going to ask them to reconsider and come to Georgia. It'll be just fine," Gingrich told an audience of about 400 gathered in an airplane hangar in Peachtree City for an evening rally. "We'll be hospitable, and frankly there's something wrong when someone tries to buy their way to the presidency."
The frequently cash-strapped Gingrich campaign has relied heavily on his solid performances in the national televised events. After the event, talking with reporters, Gingrich said, "All I can tell you is that the average Georgian and the average Ohioan is going to say, 'Let me get this straight, they're not willing to come here to debate but they want my vote?'"
As of now, there are only two scheduled remaining primary debates. On Wednesday, February 22, CNN will be holding a debate from Arizona to which all four candidates have confirmed. PBS is also still scheduled to hold a debate March 19 from Oregon but that could certainly change between now and then.
Newt Gingrich is a very sick man — with his childish behaviours, temper, ultra sensitive personality — is that what we want for a president of the U.S.?
Cathy Root —
LOL — one such is already in office….
I think that there have been plenty of chances for newt to show himself and if he can't prove his worth without televised debates then he isn't suitable to be our next president or even opposition leader!!
Friend of Canada, you've got it backward. We need to see candidates in unscripted venues, so we can see what they're really like. If you don't have debates, all you get is fluffy lies from the candidate commercials and mud (or worse) from the superpacs.
Once a debate is announced, it should go forward, even if it's just one candidate. In fact, that would be ideal, since the host could then ask REAL follow-up questions.
Goethe Behr
It's pretty NAIVE to believe that the Debates aren't a Scripted Venue. When we can FAIRLY Watch the "Media Moderator" ask EVERY Candidate to answer the SAME Question, then I will believe that the Debates are an Unscripted Venue.
Throughout the Debates, Ron Paul was IGNORED and was given "limited" TIME to answer any of the Questions that came his way. Not to mention, the "Questions" which he WAS asked were either "Designed" to make him look "Radical" or they were Outright Nonsensical.
Ron Paul 2012
Darryl — spot on!
Except the term "Moderator" — should have used the proper description: Orchestrator….
Darryl, it's ALL b.s. I didn't mean to suggest that debates are COMPLETELY unscripted. But that's the fault of the moderator. They let candidates go off in a totally different direction. Even so, you see a lot more of who the candidates are when they're not droning on, or the horrible commercials.
If you want to see good journalism, watch the Brits. On the BBC, they will ask a question. If the politician ducks it, they just ask the same, exact question a second time. If the politician ducks again, they reword and ask AGAIN. If they still duck it, the journalist will turn it into a yes-no question. Then, if they refuse to answer, the journalist will say, that sounds like a "no," and they cut off the interview.
Our politicians have so cowered our press that they are afraid to ask tough questions.
Goethe Behr
Give me a Break! Are you saying that it's the Moderator's Fault for not asking the SAME question to each of the Candidates and letting them answer THAT Question? If anything, it's the Moderator's Fault for injecting "confusion" into the Debates by NOT letting each Candidate answer the SAME Question and then "side-tracking" the Debate with Questions that were "designed" to make a Candidate look "Radical". Ron Paul was a "victim" of this CRAP! It was "In-Your-Face" and everyone recognized it.
Darryl: yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. Our "moderators" are sycophants.
Goethe Behr
Perhaps they are Sycophants, however I would put the Debate Moderators into the Category of either "puppet" or "pawn" Media Types who essentially drive the Debate toward accentuating the Status-Quo "Establishment". They (and their Networks) make the RULES of a Debate, based upon who is leading in the Polls. However, the QUESTIONS that they ask each of the Candidates "brings into suspect" just WHO the "Establishment" would want THEIR Candidate to be. Thus, they rarely ask the SAME Question to each of the Candidates.
Well, you ask the question that's appropriate. When the buy asked Newt about his ex-wife, he was really doing Newt a favor-to get it out in the open and behind him. It was an opportunity to give his side of the story. Instead, he "shot the messenger." Some day, people are going to wake up to the fact that "shooting the messenger" is not an answer.
That being said, I am also frustrated that insightful questions are not asked. Ron Paul has brought up UNIQUE ideas, and they are ignored. Like on Fox-so-called-News. The bimbo interviewer wasted the entire interview asking what Ron Paul thought of the rumor that he wanted to have sex with Rick Perry. Then, when he brushed off the idiocy, she asked how he would respond to it. I don't mind that Fox hires "eye candy" and uses kindergarten graphics to get ratings, but do they have to hire the stupidest beautiful women they can find?
Goethe Behr or to anyone out there…
What do you think of this?
http://endoftheamericandream.com/archives/bain-capital-owns-clear-channel-rush-limbaugh-sean-hannity-glenn-beck-michael-savage-etc
Darryl: I work in the industry, so I already knew.
People think that only the government is a threat to our freedom, but who owns the government? The corporations that pay for it, of course. If the founding fathers had had any idea that a handful of people would own or control almost all the wealth (and, therefore, power) in the country, you can be sure they would have also written to protect us from what is now the real source of power (and abuse). The government is just the tool of abuse, not the source.
I remember when we had "regulations" that local radio stations had to belong to local people-and there was a "regulation" limiting the number of stations owned by one entity. Now, there are cities with eight or ten stations that are ALL owned by Clear Channel. You can guess how they report our elections. And there simply is no other voice. For those who think "regulation" is a bad word, you should think about the fact that there are areas of our lives where the powerful crush the powerless without some kind of "regulation."
How many debates are necessary? We have already had quite a number of them. New just got a big cash infusion, so he can now make TV ads.
Dianne: Trouble is, commercials, by nature, are DISinformation. The more commercials you see, the less truth you know.
Maybe we should just give candidates guns and see who comes out alive. The NRA would go for that system.
Goethe Behr — good one!
A one man debate — I'm sure Newt will win since he can out-debate himself….
Surfisher: Romney would LOSE in a one-man debate.
Goethe Behr — LOL!!!!!!!!!!
That one is a gem!
Still laughing…..
Surfisher
Are you kidding? With Newt, it's been a constant internal Debate (Battle) between the Old Newt and the New Newt. Even Newt wouldn't approve of Newt, if Newt knew what Newt stood for!
The point is Newt's strategy is to Grandstand with "High and Mighty" the-media-picks-on-me speeches hoping that the Electorate will somehow IGNORE that Fact that he "Profited" from Freddie Mac as the Housing Bubble inflated and then went "Bust"! He was "invested" in the FRAUD which DEVASTATED Our Economy. Newt Gingrich is nothing but a Plutocrat Lobbyist "masquerading" as a Conservative. His Record says it all!
Darryl —
you missed my sardonicism…?
Surfisher
LOL! No. I got it! Keep on showing these Romney, Gingrich and Santorum supporters that their support for these 3-of-a-kind BIG Government "Counterfeit" Conservatives will just lead to Obama having a second term. This Election isn't like texting your Vote to American Idol and they will ALL LOSE against Obama. ONLY Ron Paul can defeat him!
When you live by the Debate - You die by the Debate - Bye Bye Newt - You Plutocratic Scumbag!
They shouldn't cancel debates just because candidates are afraid or want to rely on their super pac attacks.
If Newt was the only one who agreed to go onstage, they should have given him the whole time. Turn it into an interview.
If that were to happen just once, there wouldn't be cancellations, I would think. Then we'd get more chance to see them in action, and not just in million-dollar productions on TV.
For not liking the media, Newt sure uses it for his advantage.
Newt should be glad they did — at least it gave the media a reason to ask him something. He's been noticeably missing from the political headlines lately. I think Santorum's surge has hurt Newt's ego more than Romney's support, as he had this delusion that if only Santorum dropped out, he could easily surpass Romney. Then people turned from Gingrich to Santorum. There's just something about arrogance that turns a lot of people off.
Goethe, the debates are a very rigid format, and they do not give the candidate an opportunity to fully express his or her views on the issue like campaigning does. And some candidates don't get equal time, and don't even get to answer some questions. These candidates aren't just pushing ads, they're going to town halls and all kinds of gatherings. We've had a lot of debates already, a record breaking number, to allow us to see the candidates interact with each other. Now it's time to get more of each candidate in depth. I'm just sad that the national audience isn't able to get more of the in-depth speeches being made on the circuits, as all we get are alleged gaffe's or 30-second sound bites as part of gotcha media coverage.
Jeese you guys! Okay the comment about Newt not liking the media and sure using it a lot for his advantage..First of all hes running for President of The Untied StatesSecondly Of courese hes angry of the cancellation thats one reason he dosnt like the media and its for legit raesons! He is incredibly smart but differs from the rest of the canidates because he stands up to the people who falsely accuse and of cousre youre going to have people not like you….but guesse who those people are that dont like you(the people that you stand up tooooooo!!!!) GINGRICH FOR PRESIDENT!!
Arrogant ?Gingrich? I believe you are getting arrogance mixed up with his personaltiy! If youre calling anyone arrogant it should be the president.
Maybe Newter should have invited his wife, his exes and all his mistresses come and debate him or he could have just debated alone. Nice Newt vs Pissed off sarcastic bitter Newt.
It seems that Newt is the only candidate with a real plan, not just for beating Obama, but for re-building our country that is being shattered by the Obama and the Democrats. That is why the other candidates refused to debate. It's too bad for our country when money can buy a lot of lies and perhaps even the presidency. The big problem here is that Obama has even more money.
Tom Parent
Yeah - Right! Republican House Speaker, Newt Gingrich, supported NAFTA which created the "Exodus" of shipping our jobs overseas! - Republican Senator, Rick Santorum, voted to RAISE the Debt Ceiling 5 Times during the Bush Administration adding to the now National Debt of $16 TRILLION! - Republican Governor, Mitt Romney, signed into Law the "Blueprint" for Obamacare! - And YOU want us to "buy into" the partisan and idiotic statement that our Country was "shattered" by Obama and the Democrats???
Get REAL! The Republicans and the Democrats are the SAME, despite what Rush Limbaugh says. They work for the SAME Masters - The Bankers! All you have to do is Google their Campaign Contributors, and while you're at it, Google current and past Administration's Appointments to the Treasury, the FED or ANY DEPARTMENT that has anything to do with MONEY or the ECONOMY. You will find that they ALL came from the Wall Street BANKS!
The show must go on….with or without ALL the candidates….the other debates went on even though they were missing some of the candidates!
Is Ron Paul Dangerous_ Yes! to the Power-Elite

Gingrich? - Bought!
Santorum? - Bought!
Romney? - Bought!
Ron Paul? - Not For Sale!
If someone capable of Googleing the exact quotes in Gulliver's Travels — specifying the skills needed to become politicians — please, post the actual text (it is hilariously accurate even today)!
(here is the unfunny gist of it — Lilliputian government officials are chosen by their skill at tight rope walking, their balancing act being paramount. Also, the would-be officials are almost literally forced to jump through hoops in order to qualify for their positions.)
Even though Gulliver manages single-handedly to stop the Blefuscu naval fleet from invading Lilliput (that's the "greatest service to princes" he's talking about), he still becomes the Emperor's enemy. Why? Because Gulliver refuses to use his great strength to enslave the Blefuscudians, even though the Emperor of Lilliput asks him to. This is the problem with politics in Lilliput: keeping the Emperor happy often means lying, flattery, or hypocrisy. And acting according to a pretty basic moral rule – do not make people slaves – makes the Emperor angry. Politics and morality do no seem to be compatible.
Goethe Behr
And that, my friend, is Newt Gingrich's Dilemma.
Oh, I think you meant this quote:
The Emperor of Lilliput uses this rope dance to test "candidates for great employments." The person who can jump the highest wins a government job. So, basically, if you can impress the Emperor by doing something completely unrelated to government, bam! You can get a government job. How might this rope dance work as a larger metaphor for politics at court?
Come on Newt. How old are you? They simply do not want to get down to your level.
Jayne
I think Newt just needs to Take a Bath and Get a REAL Job. (Picture that in your mind's eye)
Goethe behr:
Ok I c ur pint that once a debate is scheduled it should go on but newt has performed well in all the other debates … Hasn't he proved himself yet? Also he needs to so more than just debate; he needs to strengthen his other skills!
Sorry for not clarifying what I meant!
I would love to see a debate, or even a discussion, between Newt and Ron Paul. THAT would be something to see, because it would be about ideas. Romney is riding his sea of cash, hoping he never has to give his true feelings and mentality. Santorum is just the anti-Romney, and the two of them are just trying to out-Jesus each other.
The reason we need more debates is to show that Romney is all glitter and no guts. As long as he can hide behind his stacks of cash, the public won't see him.
The amazing thing is that Newt crashed between South Carolina and Florida. In the debates, he seemed disoriented. If he had kept swinging, he would be the front-runner.
Goethe Behr —
Good reasoning (except for: "I would love to see a debate, or even a discussion, between Newt and Ron Paul").
Newt kowtowed to Ron Paul by responding several times on TOUGH QUESTIONS in the "debates": "I agree with Dr. Ron Paul…." — Logic necessitates that Newt is either in agreement with Ron Paul (thus making a one-on-one debate superfluous) or is currying Ron Paul's favor (in the hope that Ron Paul will abandon his life-long principles, and endorse Newt's dogma should he (Newt) reach a viable electability Delegate Count).
What would be most educational, is the inevitable, one-on-one of Mitt vs Ron Paul — dishwater vs truth!
Newt "crashed" BECAUSE he kept swinging his "dead dogma" orations (which had worked for decades) — and was shocked that NOW others were able to dispute the oratorship. That is the reason Newt "seemed disoriented".
Surfisher
It's amazing, isn't it? Ron Paul is really shaping the Platform of the GOP by denouncing the "let's go to war" Rhetoric of the Neo-Cons. Even most of GOP Candidates are now in a quandary on how to "measure-up" to the Standards of Ron Paul. Everyone, that is, except Rick Santorum. He's still the "typical" Hypocritical Die-Hard Neo-Con who wouldn't think twice about send our kids into harms way, even though he never bothered to serve in the Military. But he still likes spreading that FEAR around, doesn't he? According to him, there's an Islamic Terrorist under everyone's bed or around every corner.
Perhaps if Ron Paul's Free-Trade Foreign Policy was adopted, instead of the Neo-Con "bomb them into submission" Foreign Policy, we wouldn't be in this predicament right now.
I agree with Ron Paul's foreign policy, but that is precisely why he cannot win INSIDE the party. The GOP has a standing policy of Xenophobia abroad and Paranoia at home. Spend more money, kill more people-that's the GOP idea of "security." I've not heard a Republican candidate since John Anderson who wasn't trying to outspend all the others for military adventurism.
From Anderson's 1980 campaign brochure:
John Anderson maintains that our prestige, influence and power abroad are direct functions of our domestic strength. Anderson also believes that we must rebuild our alliances with the nations of Western Europe and with Japan. He supported the normalization of relations with China. He advocates stronger ties with Latin America and the Third World. He believes that we must back the cause of freedom and human rights everywhere.
Anderson is an advocate of strong armed forces, but he believes that our best defense is a military that's lean and flexible. Accordingly he opposes such schemes as the B-1 bomber and the MX missile, which he feels will increase our military costs without adding measurably to our security.
I would rather have a man in the White House that is real like Newt. He had a good plan to help America. He has been painted by the media as the bad Newt and the Good Newt, you have all swallowed the media talking points about him lock stock and barrel…how sad. You who talk him down will have to live with your choices. He has a plan that will be put into action quickly…and we really need to get America back from those who seek to destroy it. I noticed that the only debates that the others bowed out of were in states and held by people like those at the Reagan library who know the TRUTH about who Newt is. I see you folks are still on the payroll to crush anyone with an opinion that differs from yours. So Sad.
Janet
Perhaps you should look just a little bit closer at the Campaign Contributors to each of these Candidates to discover just WHO is "really" seeking to destroy this Country.
First, look at the $16 TRILLION (and Growing) National Debt and learn how we got here. (Hint: It wasn't just Obama)
Then look at Government "Borrowing and Spending" and learn how the Government SPENDS MORE than it takes in via Taxation which will contribute to $TRILLION$ Budget Deficits EVERY YEAR, no matter who is President.
Then look at the Debt Ceiling Debates and learn the reason why that there hasn't really been a Ceiling-at-All and that they've been RAISING the Debt Ceiling for many many years now.
Then look at what the Government DOES and DOESN'T DO when the Debt Ceiling is Raised. What they DO is continue to BORROW the Money from Foreign Countries, through the FED's "Printing Machine" and the sale of Government Treasury Bonds to be auctioned in the Bond Market, so the World can "buy" our Debt. What they DON'T DO is cut "Actual" Government Spending, stop "policing" the World through never-ending Wars and the reforming Entitlement Programs.
Then look at the FED and learn how they are continuing to "Print" $100 BILLION per MONTH to "dump" into our Economy in order to prop it (and the Stock Market) up, so investors will continue to invest their Capital in the United States.
Then look at your Grocery Bill and Energy Prices Year-to-Date (YTD) and learn that it isn't really the "supply" of these goods and services which are contributing to the RISING Prices. It's the "supply" of MONEY printed by the FED (and Spent by the Government) which is "decreasing" the purchasing power of your Dollar.
If Newt Gingrich, Santorum or Romney become the GOP nominee and is elected President, this CYCLE will continue until we are officially Bankrupt. (We already are Bankrupt) $20 TRILLION National Debt is on the horizon and it could be the magic number that triggers the Death of the Dollar and Economic Collapse. Please LEARN what that MEANS to each and every one of us!
Ron Paul is the only one talking about this, while the Media IGNORES his "Warnings" and his Message. The other Candidates are all talking about "Social Issues", rescinding Regulations, Repealing Obamacare, Balancing the Budget and Growing the Economy. NONE of these issues (Social or Economic) will come to fruition until the Government "System" CHANGES - and unfortunately, it won't. This is ALL by design to keep Ron Paul out of the White House and to keep the Status-Quo in place which will inevitably DESTROY this Country.
Rick santorum is the man! He's got good morals and if we do what is right according to Gods word than God will bless the economy too. I no tht the churn shudnt rule the govt but I also no that if a leader try's his best for his country and does what is right according to God than he will b blessed?
Santorum bears a striking resemblance to Mr. Potato Head. Anybody else notice that?
Friend in Canada
Rick Santorum is a "Counterfeit" Conservative who has a RECORD of BIG Government Spending. When he was a US Senator during the Bush Administration, Rick Santorum "Promised" a Balanced Budget Amendment, but instead he voted to RAISE the Debt Ceiling 5 Times, thus contributing the the "unsustainable" $16 TRILLION National Debt. He's a Corporate Lobbyist who "Promised" to fight the Special Interests, but instead took the MOST "Lobbyist Cash" in Washington.
Rick Santorum was named one of the most CORRUPT Senators in Washington and the Pennsylvania Voters "wisely" threw this guy out of Office in a Landslide Victory.
It would be ABSOLUTELY IMMORAL for a Person-of-Faith to vote for someone like Rick Santorum. He's a Corrupt, Arrogant and Judgmental CHARLATAN who hides his Corruption behind the Shield of Religion. He "despises" the concept of the people having the Rights to Civil Liberties outlined in our Constitution and promoted by Civil Libertarians. He believes that GOVERNMENT should be in the Bedroom and in every aspect our PERSONAL LIVES! He's a "whack-job"!
Don't fall for his LIES!
If mr potato head is suitable for president then yes santorum resembles him !!
Mayb u r right but the govt shud ban gay marriage abortion and euthanasia. Yes I think the economies important but human lives r more important!
Govt, govt, govt, we are trying to shrink it not expand it. There are over 500,000 rule and regs on the books now. The govt should just bow out on anything new.
Billy Malone — LOL, you missed it by only three extra Zeros.
If only there were 500,000 laws, rules, regs on the books — we'd still be free people.
However, it is estimated that nearly 500,000,000 as of 2010 — about 1/2 billion — NEGATIVE Laws are on the books, meaning: "You, the US Citizen, cannot do 1/2 billion things, because we, the Government, have deemed such actions to be contrary to your well-being."
In other words: "If you don't do what we think is for YOUR OWN GOOD, we have approved 1/2 billion ways to punish you!"
More Laws (about 500,000,000) telling individuals what NOT to DO, than the total count of all the US Citizens alive (about 312,000,000)!
The Arrogance of Office is best displayed by this pernicious Sophism: "Ignorance of the Law is no excuse".
No sane person can expect an individual to memorize all the names of the 312 million US Citizens — but same individual is expected to know the EXACTITUDE of ALL 1/2 billion LAWS (or be penalized for the IGNORANCE)?!
Only Ron Paul has questioned this EVER increasing "Law" passing — the rest are mute (seems they lack the education to comprehend the truth the Great Roman Statesman Cicero stated: 'The MORE Laws in a Nation, the LESS Justice for the Citizens' — nearly 2000 years later, Cicero's warning rings true: *More Laws = Less Liberty*)!
No wonder the main media is doing their best to black-out Ron Paul — Truth is Bane for Big Brother wannabees.
Say what you want Newt has knowledge of how the game is played.
Billy Malone
That's the Problem. People think it's a game. Well, it ISN'T a game. Just ask the people in Libya.

To all the people who think that "Politicians" weren't the kids in your high school who were always striving to be elected Student Council President, so they could "Run your Lives" - please watch this video! These were the kids in High School that you "loved to hate".
Keep in mind that there is NO College Degree to become a "Politician". There is NO Formal Training necessary. All that is required for the "Potential Politician" is the "willingness and audacity" to have the "hutzpa" to TELL OTHER PEOPLE WHAT TO DO with their Lives and, of course, a "level of intelligence" which is outright Mind-boggling!
WHY people choose to "follow" these MORONS and call them their "leaders" - is EQUALLY as Mind-boggling!

With most Republicans unenthusiastic about the GOP primary lineup, we need more debates — not fewer — to distinguish among the contenders. I'm not a big fan of Gingrich, but I'm afraid he's correct i this case- his opponents are afraid — which doesn't give me confidence that any of them would make a solid commander in chief.
Newt pouting: "The other kids won't play with me…."
You are exactly right Friend in Canada. God will honor the most righteous candidate and I believe that Rick is. As for Ron Paul, he will not win. It's that simple.
Ron Paul - Christianity, Israel and Iran
It's amazing to me that Christians on this Blog won't listen to the Truth which Ron Paul is trying to convey to them, simply because it's not what they want to hear. They listen and watch FOX News and/or other Conservative Talk Shows and then they "stick their fingers in their ears" when Ron Paul tries to "Warn" them of what's coming if we don't change the direction this Country is headed.
I suppose that much of the contention which exists between Christians and Ron Paul is Ron's Foreign Policy approach to Israel. (At least, that's what I've heard from my fellow Christians) Ron Paul wants to STOP all Foreign Aid to all Foreign Countries around the Planet, including Israel. When my fellow Christians present this to me, I tell them that Ron's approach of NO Foreign Aid is the BEST-CASE Scenario for Israel. Of course, FOX News and the Neo-Con Conservative Talk Shows WON'T tell us why. Israel receives $3 BILLION in Foreign Aid annually. Did you know that Israel's Arab neighbors receive 7 TIMES that amount annually?
Next in line would be the Policy towards Iran. Ron Paul explains that if the Iranians would desire to possess a Nuclear Weapon (which they are not), the reason Iran would do so is to gain "respect" in the region. Christians say the Iran's leaders want to "wipe Israel off the map", thus he's the NEW Hitler. However, if Christians looked more closely at what Ahmadinejad ACTUALLY said (and NOT the Neo-Con or Zionist "Translation"), he ACTUALLY said that "the Regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time" Google it! The "Wipe Israel Off The Map" Lie)
"Zionism" is the SECULAR Movement "politically" occupying Jerusalem. Zionism is NOT a Religious Movement. Politically speaking, Zionism has "hijacked" Judaism, much like the Neo-Cons have "hijacked" Christianity. Zionism and the Neo-Cons are all about WAR and World Domination. You'll never hear the word "PEACE" come out of their mouths. This is how we can distinguish between a Constitutional Conservative (Ron Paul) and a Neo-Con or Zionist (Santorum, Gingrich and Romney).
Also, what Christians don't realize is that Israel's Zionist Regime REFUSED to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Iran HAS signed it and according to the Treaty, the United States is supposed to "help" Iran with their Nuclear Energy Program. It would seem that the Zionist Regime in Israel is "dictating" to the United States what their Policy will be toward Iran. And NOW WAR and World Domination seems to be the Dictate. It makes a person wonder why the Media don't tell us these things.
The way I see it, Ron Paul is the ONLY "Evangelical" Candidate left in the race. He invoked the "Golden Rule" approach to Foreign Policy at the South Carolina Debate and what did he get in return? He was "Booed". This only goes to show that the Neo-Cons and the Zionists have a very strong foot-hold within the Christian Church and the Conservative Movement.
Darryl: You're sticking your neck way out on this one. Put your helmet on.
But let me add something for everyone to think about. The media keep talking about its neighbors denying "Israel's right to exist." Has it occurred to anyone that for more than 60 years, Israel has denied Palestine's right to exist? The Palestinians are an occupied people, denied a homeland for three generations.
We should be talking about Israel's right to exist-AND-Palestine's right to exist.
Goethe Behr
I know I stuck my neck out, but it's all TRUE! It just goes to show us that when a Candidate (Rick Santorum) speaks about God and Morality, Christians, in particular, seem to IGNORE the harsh Political "Realities" in the World.
For instance: During the time when Jesus walked the Earth, the "Political Landscape" was one made up of Caesars, Kings, and Fiefdoms. They were Tyrannical and extremely Brutal. But what was Jesus' Message within this Political Landscape? He spoke about Peace, Freedom and Liberty, much like what Ron Paul is talking about.
I have a Christian friend of mine who will not vote for Ron Paul because he believes what is "Propagated" by FOX News. He said to me "Jesus would never vote for Ron Paul." I replied "Maybe not - but Ron Paul would definitely vote for Jesus!"
I don't know about you or any other Christian on this Blog, but MY Jesus said "Blessed [are] the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God." (Matthew 5:9)
Christians, when they read the Bible, really need to "study" the Bible. And CHARLATANS, like Rick Santorum, need to be Vilified and Marginalized and "called-out" for who they REALLY ARE… Pharisees and Hypocrites!
You should talk about your 13 trillions dolars debts and it is just thanks to your foreign politics like wars and supporting constantly Israel. And this your problem just like Palestina and Israel state will be solved authomatically, if Israelis will not get even one cent more from USA.
or maybe Ron Paul will win. He is the best candidate in USA, the only hope and chance for better future. He is chance for USA and chance for republican party and chance for the world. You have brains, your mind should dictate this basic rule: the best candidate means the most reasonable, the ost intelligent, no-toxic candidate, who loves USA and US nation, who wants to serve for own country, who wants to care about own nation and about own country, who is wise, reasonable, who has good programm, who has strong morality, who is tolerant, who has values and this candidate is Ron Paul. He is really the only one.
It is estimated that nearly 500,000,000 as of 2010 — about 1/2 billion — NEGATIVE Laws are on the books, meaning: "You, the US Citizen, cannot do 1/2 billion things, because we, the Government, have deemed such actions to be contrary to your well-being."

NOTE there is nothing personal about my discussion.First, the "childish" part of this comment came from the two people wearing the chicken suits holding the signs. Those were not Newt's comments. Newt raised a legitimate point about the other candidates not agreeing to a debate. All he simply said was he is going to ask them to reconsider. He raised a legitimate statement about what it would say to the voters if the candidates did not attend the debate. Newt's from Georgia, he knows something about the people of Georgia. Everyone of them need as many debates as possible, it's a primary season. It's only just narrowed down to the four candidates since South Carolina. This also may not be a big deal, it'll probably get rescheduled. Next, Daryl, Uh the statements about Rick Santorum. First of all, it would not be immoral to vote for him, we are as Christians instructed to vot based on the word of God. He is a Godly man and a good family man. Not to mention the work he's done for the tough issues, he's got the attacks from the media to prove it. Santorum is a CONSERVATIVE, they want less government. The ones who want to get into every aspect of our lives are the leftists, most Democrats because they are fo MORE government not less. Not to mention our current President, proof being the most recent attack on religious liberties with this mandate to Catholics for contraception in Obama-care. That was a clear attack on 1st ammendment rights.Obama care is also proof how much the government wants to get inside of our lives. It's only going to get worse the more we learn about it. Rick Santorum and the other candidates have plans for spending cuts, Obama has done essentially nothing. OBAMA inside of his presidency has added trillions of dollars to the debt and introduced another a "fantasy" budget plan adding even more to the debt. We should be glad that congress isn't going to pass it. If this continues, America is going to end up in the same situation as Greece and Italy. Looking at the news, we know what's going over there. The fact of the matter is Obama and his administration, including a large number of white house czars officials without Senate approval, has been an utter disaster. We need real change, and if Obama is re-elected, just imagine how radical he would be. He has failed on virtually every campaign promise, no surprise there unfortunately. Obama has been a disaster, much much worse than Jimmy Carter was. America cannot afford another four years of Obama. I can list much of his decisions if I must. I am for Santorum and Gingrich. Romeny is ok, but I've got legit concerns for Romney care and its similarites to Obama care. Fact is Any one of them will be a better President than Obama.I'm not for Ron Paul and his foreign policy. Addresing the issue of Iran and Israel. Iran is a big terrorist supporter to those who HATE Israel. They clearly have the intentions of wiping Israel off the map, that is what was said however it was worded, it would be dangerous and naive to think otherwise. America needs to be PRO-Israel, which Paul would not be with hid policy and Obama certainly hasnt been. We cannot cut foreign aid to them. If America does not bless Israel, God wont bless America. These are my thoughts thus far, on a serious note its good to see peopl are actually informed about the Primary and election and its candidates, because this one Is the most important election in our lifetime. The direction of America is at stake, it's either a free America as its always been,or a socialist welfare sate as they are in Europe. I and hope many are for a continued free America as it has always been.

You've gotta stop chugging that Rick Santorum Kool-Aid, my friend. It's "laced" with Hypocrisy and Inconsistency!
You stated "Christians instructed to vote based on the word of God" I then ask you "Which PASSAGE of Scripture are you referring to?" Could you please point that one out? Or are you just pointing to Rick Santorum, rather than the Word of God?
You also stated "Santorum is a CONSERVATIVE, they want less government." Could you please explain to me why when Rick Santorum was a Senator, he "Promised" the Conservatives a Balanced Budget Amendment, but instead he voted 5 TIMES to RAISE the Debt Ceiling? Also, could you please explain why when Millionaire Rick Santorum was a Senator, he "Promised The Conservatives to fight the "Special Interests", only to take the most "Lobbyist Cash" during his tenure in Washington? Also, could you explain why when Rick Santorum was a Senator, he voted for Title 10 9 TIMES which gave Planned Parenthood $70 MILLION a YEAR! I can tell you why. He did this because it was "part" of a BIG BILL with lots and lots of Money. (Pork Projects) Apparently, Rick Santorum will "Compromise" his position on Abortion for lots of Money.
You also stated "Rick Santorum and the other candidates have plans for spending cuts," REALLY??? Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich and Mittens Romney are proposing cutting the "Rate of Growth" in the Budget, NOT "Actual" Spending Cuts, like Ron Paul. For Example, if the "Rate of Growth" is projected to be 7%, these "Politicians", like Santorum, propose just cutting that Rate to 4-5% and then "call that" a CUT! That's what "Politicians" do, my friend, to appease their Constituents. But the DEBT and DEFICITS continue to GROW!
You also stated "OBAMA inside of his presidency has added trillions of dollars to the debt and introduced another a "fantasy" budget plan adding even more to the debt." This will be a 2 part answer, my friend. First, Since Obama took Office, the National Debt has increased $4 TRILLION. The National Debt is currently $16 TRILLION. I agree that Obama is the WORSE President we ever had. However, in all fairness to Obama, he didn't add the $12 TRILLION which was originally there when he took Office. Republicans are just as Guilty.
Secondly, PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS! There can NEVER BE a "Balanced Budget" so long as the Government doesn't operate within it's means. But in order for the Government to operate within a Budget, "Actual" Spending Cuts MUST happen and the Borrowing MUST cease. However, the $16 TRILLION of accumulated Debt is the "Millstone" around the Government's Neck! The Debt MUST be either Paid-Down or liquidated FIRST. Otherwise, Tax INCREASES will become an inevitability - and Austerity will become the American Way-of-Life.
You also state "If this continues, America is going to end up in the same situation as Greece and Italy" - and - "We need real change". This is TRUE unless the System of Government of "Borrowing and Spending" Changes. This WON'T happen under Santorum, Gingrich or Romney. It WILL happen under Ron Paul!
Yep. The number ONE proponent of the SEPARATION of Church and State was Jesus.
You know, like in, "My kingdom is not of this world," and "Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, and unto God what is God's."
Jesus didn't run for office and he didn't campaign for anyone either.
So when the ministers start campaigning from the pulpit, maybe you ought to tell them to read the Bible.
Wes
You State "Iran is a big terrorist supporter to those who HATE Israel."
This will ONLY HAPPEN if Israel "continues" to assassinate Iran's Nuclear Scientists and/or they are attacked by Israel or the United States.
NOTE! Iran is NOT Iraq. If they are attacked, they WILL Fight Back! That means THOUSANDS, if not MILLIONS of "innocent" people will DIE all around the World! Ask yourself ONE Question… What Would Jesus Do?
USA and the rest of the world need peace, recovery after wars ( which last more than decade and real end is not to see ), prosperity, justice, freedom, civilian development, democracy and the only candidate, who wants and who will restore it is Ron Paul. His foreign policy is brilliant, his domestic policy is very good. he is the best candidate of republican party and the best presidential candidate in USA and the only candidate, who can restore USA, who can restore global peace, who can restore republican party ( republicans, remember it is in your own interest, republican party has chances to win next elections close to 0 and these another candidate Romney, Gingrich, Santorum have chances to win with Obama less than O, it is even time to understand it even for good of party if such term as good of US nation does not exist, but this candidate Ron Paul is just candidate, who will work for good of US nation ).
