In the latest poll out of Iowa today it appears that Newt Gingrich has lost some ground dropping to 4th place while former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum has jumped substantially and now holds third place. Mitt Romney is leading currently while Ron Paul holds a close 2nd.
Report from CNN:
A new survey of people likely to attend Iowa's Republican caucuses indicates that the former House speaker's support in the Hawkeye State is plunging. And according to a CNN/Time/ORC International Poll, one-time long shot candidate Rick Santorum has more than tripled his support since the beginning of the month.
Twenty-five percent of people questioned say if the caucuses were held today, they'd most likely back Mitt Romney, with 22% saying they'd support Rep. Ron Paul of Texas. Romney's three point margin is within the poll's sampling error.
The poll's Wednesday release comes six days before Iowa's January 3 caucuses, which kickoff the presidential primary and caucus calendar. The Iowa caucuses are followed one week later by the New Hampshire primary.
A new CNN/Time/ORC poll of likely primary voters in New Hampshire indicates that Romney, the former governor of neighboring Massachusetts, remains the front-runner, far ahead of his rivals for the GOP nomination.
In Iowa, both Romney and Paul are each up five points among likely caucus goers from a CNN/Time/ORC poll conducted at the start of December. The new survey indicates that Santorum, the former senator from Pennsylvania, is at 16% support, up 11 points from the beginning of the month, with Gingrich at 14%, down from 33% in the previous poll. Since Gingrich's rise late last month and early this month in both national and early voting state surveys, he's come under attack by many of the rival campaigns.
According to the survey, 11% are backing Texas Gov. Rick Perry, 9% are supporting Rep Michele Bachmann, and 1% are backing former Utah Gov. and former ambassador to China Jon Huntsman, who's spending nearly all his time campaigning in New Hampshire.
This is huge news for Santorum who has spent possibly the most time on the ground in Iowa visiting every county and shaking a lot of hands.

Santorum is a diehard neo-con looking to start another war in the Middle East. It appears he never met a war he didn't like.
Aparently, he has no idea of what another war would do to the US economy and doesn't care.
Santorum would never be elected president by war-weary voters.
TrueAmerican
I totally agree. It's Ron Paul (Live Free) or Die.
TrueAmerican, it's misery to watch Santorum work for the zionists in our American political debates. Who do they think they are kidding? Well, another lesson is due I guess. Hope this one works, for all our sakes. Also hope zionists have a palace to accommodate Santorum in the manner to which he expects them to provide.
America 1st, 2nd 3rd and always…
No more wars for the bankers of the Chosen People. If they're so chosen then they don't need our help. In the meantime; our money and heroes need to stay home.
Ron Paul 2012
To the Un-Necessary War Dec 29 11:15p - There is a difference between the words Chosen and Preferred. Somehow we've been brainwashed to think chosen Means preferred. No. Sure they were chosen, maybe they were the most endangered by satan and God gave them a way to escape, IF they "chose" to… All Free Will. God probably chose or selected them to step in and counter Satan's purposes in grabbing souls for himself. Satan cannot create, only can steal and harm. He wants our souls. He is our biggest enemy who oozes into all things that he can use to usurp souls. Not preferred, but chosen/selected… for a reason and purpose. Yet today they reject Christ.

There was also a new PPP poll out today, conducted 12/26-12/27:
http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/main/2011/12/paul-maintains-his-lead.html
Lead paragraph:
"The last week and a half has brought little change in the standings for the Iowa Republican caucus: Ron Paul continues to lead Mitt Romney by a modest margin, 24-20. Newt Gingrich is in 3rd at 13% followed by Michele Bachmann at 11%, Rick Perry and Rick Santorum at 10%, Jon Huntsman at 4%, and Buddy Roemer at 2%."
Ron Paul is only one that will pull the reins way back as they have to be and only one which the media as well as all in DC wouldnot know how to handle and who WOULD NOT be handled!
Amen Betty!
Betty, you are right. Alternately, Ron Paul knows how to handle them, and will dispatch those directives post haste! President Ron Paul. Loyal American Statesman.
Oh what a great idea - we'll all just bury our heads in the sand and start practicing Sharia (33 states have already decided cases here in the U.S. based on Sharia law). R. Paul won't bother to fight that one - After all, "they don't dislike us" Romney is as liberal as can be, Gingrich is all for a New World Order and Bachmann could never get the nomination. Santorum has a great track record, is a true Conservative, stands for Constitutional Law, Family, a strong U.S., wouldn't give the country away to illegals - and he would utilize OUR resources to get us the hell off of foreign oil (what a weird idea). Jobs, oil, lower prices - OH MY!!
GO RICK!!!
J.R.,
You said "33 states have already decided cases here in the U.S. based on Sharia law".
Would you post some citations for that information?
Ron Paul would not stand up to the countries that threaten us. He is anti-Israel, as stated by his long time aid. He thinks we can just talk to Iran or ignore them and they will leave us alone. He is an isolationist. He is Libertarian. He is definitely not a republican. The presidents main job is to protect the country. That is Paul's biggest weakness. And, yes we already have those in this country in top positions that are for making this country adopt Sharia Law. Start researching, you will find it.
So, what do you want, k-bow? Are you a geared to go military wanting to lead your troops into Iran? Ok, be sure you are all signed and ready. Alternately, since you are probably jewish and want to fight for Israel, you can go there, join up, and be there instead of pawing the ground here. We will not fight another of Israel's enemies. Friends don't provoke friends into bloody battles that they either won't fight themselves or will initiate a fight and step back and push friends into the field. We don't need that kind of friend to trick us into their wars. There are other ways, intelligent ways, of dealing with other countries that do not like you. Learn How.
J.R.,
We're still waiting on that citation for the "33 states have already decided cases here in the U.S. based on Sharia law" statement.
And I also would be really interested to know where you come up with this information: "R. Paul won't bother to fight that one" (meaning, U.S. courts basing decisions on Sharia law) Nothing Paul has ever said or done would make me believe that he would subvert the US justice system and allow our laws to be subject to those of a foreign nation or people.
k-bow, Paul has flatly stated many times that when the President is required to conduct war (as ordered by the Congress, via a formal declaration of war) that it is the duty of the President to conduct that war, get in, get out, and get on with other business. He has also stated that he wants a STRONGER military defense of the United States than we have today. Today, our military resources are scattered around the planet and are not protecting our homeland. He has stated that he wants to reduce overseas military spending, and increase our military DEFENSE capabilities here at home. Standing up to countries that attack us or conduct other acts of aggression is something he firmly believes in, but NOT in the you-threaten-me-and-I'll-blow-you-up diplomacy that others espouse.
When the highest-ranking military officer (Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, just under the President) states that the biggest threat to our national security is DEBT (not terrorism), then perhaps we should listen to him.
Ego driven windbags are not good Presidents. They are dangerous to Americans. That is what we have had for far too long. President Ron Paul will ensure we have a lean mean fighting machine military that will know when they must be sent into a battlefield, that they have a mission to win, will know they have everything they need and then some and won't depend on relatives and friends in the USA to send care packages like we have been doing. Parents and relatives, you will know your soldiers are well protected by Commander In Chief Ron Paul and will be fighting a legitimate war to protect you and the USA, and will never be used as political game pieces by that man. If for no other reason, as a parent or relative or friend of a military man or woman, I'd vote for Ron Paul. You who say you love our troops, who send packages and arrange videos and communications, you can really do your part to protect them by electing Ron Paul as President.
"First, they ignore you. Second, they laugh at you. Third, they fight you. Finally, you win." - Gandhi
Wonder if this will apply to Ron Paul as well?
I like Jon Huntsman. After I watched the debate w/ Huntsman/Gingrich, I realized he is a builder of all relationships (inter'l and domestic), based on his maturaty of character, as well as respect for all. He's a deep thinker and comes across in a one-on-one as highly intelligent, considerate, well mannered, figure.
Huntsman however, does have this little quirkyness about him which reminds me of Mr. Rogers. I'm thinking this mannorism is coming across in the debates w/all candidates and is hendering his abiity to be noticed. Huntsman appears to be soft in personality, but he's really being considerate. There needs to be a better balance b/n a tone of firm, 'toughness', and being a considerate, well mannered gentleman. Reagan had it, naturally, and I just wish Huntsman had it b/c I believe he would be as effective as Reagan…NOT Reagan, but just as effective. (no one is or ever will be like Reagan).
I for ya Huntsman…you've just got to get noticed!!! I think you could beat the heck out of Obama.
tks.
Me again, sorry about the mispelled words…man one does get used to the spell checker…guess I should re-read before posting, duh.
How sweet, if we were electing a school Social Worker
Paul is totally insane!
Insane is continually attacking sovereign nations with the expectation that you are not at the same time creating a new generation of enemies. You can't give someone else freedom. You can't martyr one radical Islamist without creating 10 more people willing to be martyrs.
If another country got support from their allies and convinced China that the US was endangering the world economy, and sent troops here to the US to change our regime, and called the people who gathered together to defend the US from foreign invaders "Terrorist", would the people in China 10 years later who want to end the war be "Insane"? Do You think our people would like foreign troops who don't speak our language breaking down our doors looking for weapons, btw anyone who defends their home is now an insurgent.
If you look at it through the eyes of the people we have invaded think about how you would react, would you be and insurgent or a collaborator?
I think Newtnisnhis own worse enemy. Ifnhenwould shut up about the negative ads they would be forgotten! He seems to be brilliantninnways but so stupid in their ways.
America 1st, 2nd, 3rd and always…
We do not need another war for the banker's Chosen People. I'm sure if God has chosen them then they don't need our help.
Keep our heroes at home and save our money. Eliminate the Fed.
Ron Paul 2012
I would vote for Ron Paul…BUT…liberty should come with responsibility.
Withdraw our troops from every single country in the world??? That is just crazy! Leave Israel to be eaten alive by mujahideen??? Let Russian, N.Korean and Chinese bolsheviks devour Asia and Europe??? Eyes wide shut eyes until there is no ally left and we stand alone surrounded by insane warlords?
Ron Paul is 76yo and he will be probably dead within a decade. Does he not see further than that? I`ve got news for you, Mr. Paul; There is a vast and dangerous world beyond the frontiers of US, and we have to contain the threats before the grow too much to cope with.
People must learn to be responsible for themselves, to grow up, face their own dangers and demons. Can't have mom and pop rushing to rescue forever. Mom and pop get old, and the save Israel mission is old and not Mom and Pop's duty. Time for them to learn to play nice, get along in the world and make other friends. Who would you say is their friend other than the American Christians? Are you aware that we American Christians are unhappy with zionists kicking our Christmas trees, knocking out our Nativity scenes, using our laws in a manner not intended? And, we are tired of them being in our pockets, worse that TSA. When are they going to do something to help others instead of always being the inept needy people. Check out Wabash Ave. in Chicago and see the zionists in and out with their big cases dealing with the diamond zone there, and check out their tv ads about poooor jews that we must save by sending MORE of our money to feed them. HA. What a joke, and what idiots here that believe them.

Statement by the President on H.R. 1540
Today I have signed into law H.R. 1540, the “National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012.” I have signed the Act chiefly because it authorizes funding for the defense of the United States and its interests abroad, crucial services for service members and their families, and vital national security programs that must be renewed. In hundreds of separate sections totaling over 500 pages, the Act also contains critical Administration initiatives to control the spiraling health care costs of the Department of Defense (DoD), to develop counterterrorism initiatives abroad, to build the security capacity of key partners, to modernize the force, and to boost the efficiency and effectiveness of military operations worldwide.

Pray for Ron Paul our only hope.
Iowans stay strong with your support of Ron Paul. This is your chance to send a message to all Americans and the entire world that "we the people" will determine our future, and that we choose a future which will enable us to live free and by our constitution. This decision will impact our future like none since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Reject the Status Quo candidates political glib. We need the PROVEN unwavering strength of Ron Paul

Your statement is so spot on, it bears repeating.
"Iowans stay strong with your support of Ron Paul. This is your chance to send a message to all Americans and the entire world that "we the people" will determine our future,
and that we choose a future which will enable us to live free and by our constitution. This decision will impact our future like none since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Reject the Status Quo candidates political glib. We need the PROVEN unwavering strength of Ron Paul"
"This decision will impact our future like none since the signing of the Declaration of Independence"
Have no doubt, America is standing at the crossroads and only two directions are before us.
I see so many people above me citing the "chosen people" as the cause of our wars and our foreign policy. Let's be real. The cause of the Iraq war was our reliance on oil and keeping oil flowing. Hussein was no threat to Israel, but he was a continued threat to oil production and with him in power, we had continuing sanctions on Iraqi oil that limited the amount that could be sold, so that Hussein did not have unlimited monies to re-build his armies. The Afghanistan war was fought to rid the country of the Taliban who supported Bin Laden, and refused to capture him and to get Bin Laden. Obama has us out of Iraq (and republican criticize the move) and killed Bin Laden and has us on the verge of getting out of that war without just a cut and run approach. Our military men and women have been called upon to serve multiple deployments in Afghanistan. The pressure on every candidate should be end the war as effectively as possible and bring our troops home. I do not see Paul as an answwer to this. Yes, limit our involvement in foreign conflicts but we can not abandon our role as a steadying influence and control in the world, or we will just become a weakened target.
It is the "perfect storm" of: colonial greed, religious fanaticism-God promised us the land some 5000 years ago, a globalization of the planet's resources, total ignorance of the oil rich countries of the Middle East. The ones whom got stuck in the middle are the rest of the Middle Eastern countries where oil does not exist in commercial quantities but; those countries, have rich history. It started with the British taking the Middle East but could not hold on to it for long. Then they "accepted" the idea of the Chosen People as it serves their ultimate goal of controlling the revenues from the oil and; most importantly, how the oil will be distributed and to which country.
In the USA; we have enough oil under our own lands to last for a 100 years. It is better (and currently less expensive) to extract the Middle Eastern oil now and save OURS for future generations. This will also give us time to develop the technology to make it less expensive to extract our oil. Some of it is under frozen land in the permafrost, some in very deep oceans and some are under big mountains and rocks.
The cave people of the Middle East have woken up to this reality and they understand why the wars are waged against them. The passive ones accepted it as part of history where the strong dictates to the weak the rules of the game. The fanatics ones (we call them the Islamic Extremists) are the ones whom decided to fight; unfortunately for them, a losing war! They willingly chose death!
reachrk
Spoken like a True "Soldier" to the Neo-Cons. It sounds like a bunch of "Kool-Aid" you want us to swallow.
At least you wrote some "Truth" when you said that the Iraq War was for OIL and NOT because of the LIES about WMD's that we were told about, or the linking of Saddam Hussein to 9/11. I just hope you're not going to say that the War in Libya was "revenge" for Pan AM Flight 103 or some kind of an effort to install Democracy to the Libyan people. Please be consistent and keep speaking "Truth". The war in Libya is "also" for oil.
However, I noticed you did stray away from "Truth" on the Afghanistan War. As the war was for the Oil in Iraq, the Afghan War is for Lithium and Poppy in Afghanistan. Just follow the Money… Bin Laden may be dead, but when did he die? And why didn't we see the EVIDENCE that he's actually dead? We were told that we went into Afghanistan to "get rid" of the Taliban. Then why is the US Government "talking to them" now? I thought we don't talk to terrorists…
Look… "Empire America" is led by a bunch of Plutocrats and their "Soldiers" (the Neo-Con's around the world). They're making an ALL-OUT EFFORT to "covet by force" ALL the natural resources from the individual countries which have them. And they use OUR Military to get it done. (And Obama did pull Troops out of Iraq, but there are 17,000 Military "Contractors" still there - "Contractors" - that's a good one) And now, our Military is in Libya, Africa and Australia.
Anyway, "Contrary" to Our Constitution and the "strict" advice from the Founders of our Nation (who promoted Free Trade and "Friendly Relations" with Foreign Countries), these "sick and twisted" Plutocrats along with the Neo-Con's, have decided that we must "abandon" the Principles of Democracy and FREEDOM. They do this by "making-up" fictitious stories and/or LIES to "force-feed" to the American People (through a compliant Media). Their Goal is convince the "Masses" that MUST GO TO WAR and conquer the World! In other words, "Sell the War", through FEAR and War Propaganda. These Plutocrats are "sick and twisted" individuals who'll STOP AT NOTHING to get their "Money Fix", but they require a "Puppet President" to "Sell the Wars" to the People. We have quite a few of these Neo-Con "Soldiers" running for the "Puppet Presidency". They believe it's their turn to replace "Puppet" Obama. Just listen to what they say. In general, they could CARE-LESS about Human Life (American or Foreign), just as long as they get to be the "Puppet" for the Plutocrats, who are the "Puppet Masters".
And please don't hand us the "America's Role" jargon that we are "needed" as a "steadying influence" around the world. We tried that in Vietnam and lost over 58,000 American Lives and killed over a Million Vietnamese people. And for what? So the Money Manipulators could fund BOTH SIDES of the War in order to reap HUGE PROFITS from our Government who was borrowing THEIR money?
So, if anything, we've become a "De-stablizing Influence" in the Middle East (by design). This is so the "Special Interests" could gain more and more Control, Power and Profits through the American People by "Going into Debt" as we fund these Wars.
But, as all Empires go, it will all eventually come "crashing down". Why? Because WAR always has a "negative effect" on a FREE Market Economy. ALWAYS! And because we've been "at war" for so many years, we're now BROKE! $4 Trillion since Obama took Office. And when an Empire goes BROKE, that is when our National Security MOSTLY threatened.
Ron Paul has been saying the "Truth" for many many years by saying - "Our National Security is MOSTLY Threatened, when our Financial DEBT is Out-of-Control". So, reachrk - do you think $16 TRILLION is a National Debt that is Out-of-Control? And how many more LIVES (American and Foreign) must be "snuffed out" and/or "sacrificed" for the SAKE of the Plutocrats, their Special Interests "Buddies" in order to "satisfy" their MASSIVE GREED for Profits? Is there ANY Point when this becomes the WRONG thing to do? And when does THEIR Debt "foisted" upon the American People become Unsustainable? I'm just asking…
The "Truth" you've written "that because Hussein didn't have the unlimited monies to build up his military due to the Sanctions put on the sale of his oil", is "Trumped" by yet another "Truth". It's really a "Fallacy", but let's call it a "Truth". The other "Truth" is that the United States certainly DOES have the unlimited monies. We just "turn-on" the Printing Presses and make some more money. Don't we?
So, in a nut-shell, all this "Printing of Money" must surely "allow" the United States to invade sovereign countries (without a Declaration of War), kill their citizens and steal their resources ALL "in the Name of Democracy" or "fighting the "supposed" war on Terror". Right? Well - That's pretty "sick and twisted", if you ask me.
But, we do own the Printing Presses to make more money. Don't we? So I suppose that the "Ability to Print Money" ALSO means that we should "abandon" the Constitution, "abandon" the Concepts of FREEDOM and LIBERTY, "abandon" the "strict" advice from our Founding Fathers, (and let's not forget) - "abandon" ANY RESPECT for Human Life - in order to commit MASS MURDER "against" Humanity all over the Planet - Is this what's Right for a FREE Society to exemplify to the World?
So, we are now to believe the LIES and the fictitious stories now coming out about Iran - Why? Because it's for our own good? Is that the "Kool-Aid" you want us to swallow?

Well said and worth the venting. Unfortunately; in a state of weak economy we'll always look for someone else to blame. The Neo-Cons know that and they'll feed us a list of names and things to blame.
It is also true that empires eventually go down, I hate to us heading that road without the ability to change course before it is too late! Even scarier than us going down is that; with our unique historical status, if wed go down the rest of the globe will also go.
